A private personal workspace

Front's Codex

Front's Codex is Front's private personal workspace for organizing everyday life and work. It brings personal planning, habits and wellness, journaling, goals, learning, finances, home, and reusable workspaces together, with tools to review progress and decide what needs attention.

What the Google Calendar connection does

The optional Google Calendar integration lets Front see calendars available to the connected Google account, choose calendars to import, and synchronize Codex events explicitly linked to Google Calendar destinations. It supports calendar planning and event conflict review; background synchronization may continue while Codex is closed. Codex requests calendar-list read access and permission to read and edit calendar events for these features.

Optional read-only Gmail

When enabled and configured, Gmail provides an optional, separately authorized search workflow. Front must connect each account and explicitly submit each inbox search. The requested https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly scope allows an app to view Gmail messages and settings; Codex's current feature uses it to search the Inbox and request selected metadata headers only (sender, subject, date, and message identifiers), not message bodies, snippets, or attachments. Search text is sent to Google, which performs Gmail search and may evaluate message content to find matches; Codex does not download or store message bodies. Codex does not handle one-time passcodes. Search results are not retained; a task created by Front from a selected result contains its subject and a Gmail link.

Optional read-only iCloud Mail

When enabled and configured, Front can connect iCloud Mail with an Apple app-specific password. Codex uses read-only IMAP to search recent Inbox subjects and fetch selected headers only. The password is broader than a scoped read-only grant, is encrypted while connected, and must be revoked separately in Apple Account settings after disconnecting.

Private app access

Front is the sole intended user of the app. The Codex app and its APIs are protected by Cloudflare Access, configured to restrict access to Front's account. This information site is public so people can review connected-service information; publishing it or the OAuth consent screen does not grant access to the app.

Google Calendar, Gmail, and iCloud Mail access are optional. Provider data is used only for the features described above, not for advertising, sale, or training generalized AI or machine-learning models. Read the connected Mail and Calendar privacy notice for data collection, use, sharing, security, retention, and deletion details.
